2009/04/07 Skambankt + Johan Olsen = True!
| When Skambankt played at a full Loppen in Copenhagen on Saturday, March 28, they had something up their sleeve. Namely a surprise which made the already cooking atmosphere get up to even higher heights... The surprise was Johan Olsen! Normally the singer in Denmark's coolest rock band Magtens Korridorer, but for a short time part of Skambankt's patched up rock unit, in a cooperation brought about by destiny and forged together in the Valhalla of the rock god RAWK himself... A Nordic "Rock Venture", the first Norwegian/Danish rock duet in history, which finally, after years of talk, comes about in the form of a newly recorded version of Skambankt's next single "O Dessverre". A team work, together with a whole lot of real and pure affection, between two of Scandinavia's biggest rock-vocals. Skambankt and Magtens Korridorer were side by side for the last years, with their own releases of mother-tongue-rock each. This is why they also followed along with the other's releases and concerts. They have even shared their favorite pub in Copenhagen, where they have talked about rock music after many concerts until the early morning, which is when everybody is smartest. There has been talk about a musical cooperation again and again - but only now it's finally become a reality. Because during Skambankt's tour through the country with D-A-D, the pieces finally fell into place. Johan Olsen - who is one-fourth Norwegian, by the way - got a call whether he was ready to do something about this now... and he was! So there was a meeting at Tornado studio in Copenhagen, a rainy Sunday afternoon, and here - chosen among many outstanding songs from Skambankt's new album "Hardt Regn" - Johan recorded his fantastic vocals for the "title song" O Dessverre. "O Dessverre" will now exclusively meet its Danish audience in its new version, on the radio and via download and on TV as music video. The latter without Johan Oslen, but then, directed by Stian Kristiansen - the man who also directed the success movie "Yngve og Mig" (aka "Mannen som elsket Yngve"). With the new single and the new cooperation, Skambankt underline once more their strong feeling of togetherness with the pan cake country, which they hold so dearly, and which will get to enjoy the Norwegian rockers for the next time at Roskilde Festival!
