2008/11/26 Skambankt ready with new album

Pretty exactly two years after their well received second album Eliksir climbed up to the eigth place of the VG list, Skambankt are back with a new album. On January 26, 2009, the band's third album "Hardt Regn" (Heavy Rain) is released.

This time the band took a pile of guitars and amplifiers along to Bekkstudio in Jæren. Right at the beach and with the big and heavy Norwegian autumn sky as spectator, the band recorded what is Skambankt's up to now richest album. The first single, Malin, was released for radio and digital download already in October, and it has been on rotation on P3 for seven weeks already.

To have full control over this release, the band has both produced and recorded everything by themselves, while the mix is done with help from the band's faithful teammate, Mike Hartung. The new approach has clearly lead to a more detailed and elaborate production, without being even close to missing the intense drive that the band has become known for, after all. With this album, Skambankt wish to prove that they came to stay. Composer, singer and guitar player Terje W. Røthing explains:

"Since the release of Eliksir and the following tour we have understood that we are a band that people are starting to take seriously. This is why we have also taken this release more seriously than ever before. This has been a strain, but we are fantastically satisfied with the final result."
