2007/03/06 Uproar and furore in Copenhagen!

Last Thursday, Skambankt ended up in the center of the action. The band woke up to see a police task force and hordes of Danish mobb just outside the window. They know how to welcome us down there in Denmark!

After a night in our favorite apartment, only a cobblestone's throw away from what used to be Ungdomshuset, we had an excellent morning with a panorama view of police violence and revolutionary youths.
Uncle Rock, our driver in Denmark, had to ask the demonstrators nicely to not steal the trailer with all the equipment. Because they had plans to use Skambankt's backline as a barricade against the police. And if not for the fact that we were going to Århus the same morning, that would have been a good alternative!

Under this circumstances, Skambankt chose to revive a 13 year old number, POLTISTAT. For those who don't know the background: Ungdomshuset is an occupied building that has been GIVEN to the youths in Copenhagen in 1982, but then has been sold in 2002 without consent. The police force landed on the roof and came out with the one that was in there on a stretcher. And never before a song title has been more fitting.
